MIG- 25 is the first in the world serial fighter which reached speed of 3000 km/h. The multi-purpose planewhich is capable of solving not only intelligence but also fighting tasks. The base serial fighter - interceptor MIG-25P is made according to the normal aerodynamic circuit with a high-set wing, twin-finned vertical plumage and an all-moving stabilizer with differential control. About 80 % of a glider's design is made of steel, 11 % - aluminium alloys, 8 % - titanic alloys, 1 % - other materials.
The fuselage, a type of semimonocoque, is made with wide use of welding. A wing is three-spar, on a back edge flaps and ailerons are fixed. On each console there is an aerodynamic crest. The chassis is three-basic. A wheel is of a big diameter that allows to maintain the plane at ground aerodromes.
In 1977 pilot - verifier A.Fedotov set up an absolute world record of flight altitude (37650 m) by this machine , and in general, 29 world records were set up by the plane of this type. Planes of a series MIG- 25 were used during the Syro-Israeli conflict in 1982, the Iran-Iraq war in 1980-1988 and during war in the area of Persian gulf in 1991.
MIG- 25P is equipped with radiosight RP-25 of "Tornado-A" with a parabolic aerial (a corner of the review in a horizontal plane +60'/-60 ', a corner of the review in a vertical plane 6 ', it is capable of finding out the low-level purposes). On fighters MIG - 25PD and PD? pulse-Doppler radar-tracking system (RTS) "Sapphire - 25" is fixed (it is capable of accompaning up to six purposes on pass, a corner of the review in a horizontal plane +56'/-56 ', a corner of the review in a vertical plane 6 '); heat direction finder, sight k-10?, system of detection of an irradiation by air / ground RTS SP?-2?/SP30-2, radio altimeter RV-UM or RV-4, radiocompass ?RC-10, a receiver of radionavigating system of short-range navigation RSBN-6S, an equipment of system " Lazur" providing an exit on the purpose in automatic or director mode on commands of the MIS (Management Information System "Air - 1", automatic control system ACS-155. An ejection armchair of KM - 1 (KM - 1?) provides an opportunity of leaving the plane in all range of altitude at speed 130 - 1200 km/h.
In 1969 at Gorkii aircraft factory (nowadays Nizhniy Novgorod) serial release of interceptors MIG- 25P started. In 1970 the plane was officially added to the armoury of Air Defence aircraft.
In 1978 a release of the plane MIG - 25PD with improved board radar-tracking system (BRTS), having an increased resource started. In 1979 they started retrofit of planes released before MIG - 25P into variant MIG - 25PDS which meets the requirements of MIG - 25PD.
The serial production of MIG- 25 had taken place till 1985, 1186 planes MIG- 25 of all modification had been constructed (including reconnaissance variants of the plane). 29 world records were set up on MIG- 25. It was used in local conflicts (in particular, in war in area of Persian gulf 1991). It is on arms of armies of air defence of some countries CIS, and also Algeria, Libya, Syria and Iraq.
